Local tea farmers were busy picking the first batch of new shoots this year. Looking around, the terraces of the mountain tea garden were full of spring scenery.
Tian Zhihua, general manager of Niaowangshan Agricultural Comprehensive Development Co., Ltd., told reporters that every year when the tea gardens are mined here, they can provide many employment opportunities for people in surrounding villages. After tea farmers from villages surrounding the tea factory go to the tea gardens to pick tea leaves, they take the picked fresh tea leaves to the tea factory for sale. Tea farmers can earn more than 100 yuan a day. "You can manage the house and pick tea, and you can also find money. If you are quick, you can get more than 100 yuan." said an old man who was picking tea. Tea picker Ma Kaiyan said: "My home is near the tea factory. I can work-study here and earn more than 100 yuan a day. It is close to home. I am still in college, and it can also reduce the burden on my parents."
It is understood that since Niaowangshan Agricultural Comprehensive Development Co., Ltd. took over the tea factory in 2017, it has pruned and weeded tea trees and managed a total of 3,700 acres of tea gardens. Among them, more than 2,000 acres of fine tea gardens have been built by the company. Since the tea factory resumed work and production this year, tea farmers have picked more than 9,000 kilograms of fresh leaves.
